LHS Pre-Registration 2018-19

LHS Families,

Lexington High School’s “Pre-Registration” for the 18-19 school year begins February 19, 2018. School counselors have been working with students all year to ensure they understand South Carolina Graduation Requirements, 4-year Public College Requirements, and how to access the District Course Catalog. Evening meetings have been held with parents to present this same information. These presentations can be found on the LHS Counseling Website HERE.

Our process for requesting courses is changing this year. Students will request courses online through their PowerSchool portal. To help students select courses, we are attaching a listing of courses available to this email. Also, teacher recommended core courses will appear when the students log into their PowerSchool portal. School Counselors will be available in the Learning Commons during all ILTs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week to assist students.

Students may enter course requests from February 19- 23. Instructions on entering these requests will be emailed to students’ LexOne email accounts. Instructions will also be available on the LHS Counseling website.

Don’t worry! Counselors will conduct IGP meetings with students and their families to review the selections made during the Pre-Registration process. If any adjustments are needed, they can be made at that time.

IGPs will be held starting March 5. Parents can go online NOW to schedule their child’s meeting. Meetings can be scheduled HERE, through the LHS Counseling website, or by calling the LHS Counseling Department at 821-3420.

Here are a few helpful hints to help you complete your Pre-Registration:

  • Be sure to access PowerSchool through a web browser– DO NOT USE THE APP!! Go HERE
  • Course descriptions for all classes are available HERE
  • A list of courses available at LHS is available HERE
  • Have your parent schedule your IGP conference HERE

Counselors will be available in the Learning Commons during your ILT for additional help or specific questions you may have.

Use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to easily check grades, review assignments, access Naviance Family Connection (Grades 6–12) and more. Click here to go to the login page or click here for information regarding computer environments (web browsers, operating systems, and Java version) for PowerSchool.

Students: Log in using your username and password.
Parents: If you have not already created a PowerSchool Lexington One parent account, you can use the “Create Account” link on the PowerSchool parent login page. Once you create your PowerSchool parent account, you will need an Access ID and password for each of your children in order to view their grades and attendance. You can get those Access IDs and passwords from each of their schools. Be sure to set the “Email Notification” settings, while you are in the PowerSchool Parent Portal, if you would like to receive emails with information about your child’s grades and/or attendance.
