Unexcused Absences

ATTENTION PARENTS: If your student has more than 3 unexcused absences for a 9 week class or more than 5 unexcused absences for a semester class, then they will need to do SEARS to make up the seat time. If your student is over in unexcused days and does not do SEARS they cannot pass the class. SEARS is $25 per session and will be on Saturday, Dec 2nd, 9th, 16th, and January 6th. If your student is over in days, please have them see Mr. Verburg during their ILT to create a SEARS contract. Thank you!

Attention all 3rd year high school students/parents

LHS is offering the ACT or SAT for your 3rd year high school student for free in the spring of 2018. LHS sent home an email today with information about both tests so you can determine which test is more suited for your student. The email also entails a form for you to choose which test you want your student to take. Please mark which test you want your student to take, sign, and send the form back to the LHS main office by Friday, Oct 6th. LHS will provide the test for free and handle the registration process as well. Please contact Mr. Verburg if you have more questions at 821-3406.

Making up the school day missed due to Hurricane Irma

September 22, 2017

Dear Lexington One Families:

As you know, all Lexington County School District One schools closed on Monday, September 11, 2017, due to Hurricane Irma.

By law (Section 59-1-425 of the South Carolina Code of Laws), districts are required to include at least three severe weather make-up days in each year’s academic school calendar. The district included those three days in this year’s academic calendar.

The district will make up the missed school day by using Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, the first severe weather makeup day on your 2017–2018 academic calendar.

We hope that by letting you know early that there will be school on Feb. 19, you have time to adjust any plans that you may have already made for that day.

Thank you for all you do for your children every day.
