Parents: Should you need to pick up a book for your child, you may come to the front office with your photo ID on May 15 and we will have a staffer bring the book to you. We WILL NOT be giving out books before May 15.
Faculty: If you ordered a yearbook for your child, the book will be at the faculty table under your name. You or your child may come pick it up from there with your ID badge.

Please begin review your student’s attendance on PowerSchool and gather any excuses that need to be turned in to the Attendance Office. If you cannot or do not have access to your PowerSchool account, students, please see the Help Desk, and parents, please see Mrs. Standridge or Mrs. Pitts in the Front Office. Please do not wait until the last minute to turn in excuses as this is a very busy time in the Attendance Office. The last day the Attendance Office will be accepting excuses for SENIORS will be May 15, 2017. The only excuses accepted after then will be for absences on May 16, 17, and 18, 2017. The last day the Attendance Office will be accepting excuses for ALL UNDERCLASSMEN will be May 25, 2017. The only excuses accepted after then will be for absences on May 26, May 30 and May 31, 2017. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Join us for some quality family fun this weekend at the LHS Musical Theatre production of “The Little Mermaid” – $7 students, $10 adults.
We are getting a new traffic light in front of our school. May 8 it will be fully functional.
However, the week of May 1 – May 5, they will be testing this light and sometimes they will be flashing yellow then red, all kinds of patterns.
For the safety of all next week after school when there is heavy traffic leaving at one time, we will only be allowing right turns out of the left parking lot side.
If you need to turn left toward Gilbert, please use the parking lot on Old Farm Road (the right side) of our school – to exit at the end of the day. There is already a light there to help with turns.
This may inconvenience you for one week but it will be worth it for your safety and traffic flow until the light is fully functional on May 8.
Thank you for your co-operation.
State law states that If your student has more than 5 unexcused absences (this includes parent notes) for a semester class or more than 3 unexcused absences for a 9 week class then they must do SEARS to get credit for the class. SEARS is a seat time recovery program offered by LHS that allows sutdents to make up seat time if they have exceeded their allowed unexcused absences. Please have your student come see Mr. Verburg during their ILT, before school, or after school to create a SEARS contract. SEARS is $25 per session and will be on the following days and times in the Little theater:
Saturday, May 6th – 7:30 – 11:30 (Seniors only)
Saturday, May 13th – 7:30 – 11:30 (all students – last day for seniors to complete SEARS)
Saturday, May 20th 7:30 – 11:30 (underclassmen)
Tuesday, May 30th 12:00 – 4:00 (underclassmen)
