As part of Lexington County School District One’s commitment to providing 21st century learning tools for our teachers and students, we have begun using Schoology© as our district learning management system in grades 6–12. In fact, Schoology© will replace Edmodo as our learning management system in grades 6–12. This transition will take place during the first semester of this academic year.
Schoology© is a dynamic platform that allows teachers and students to work digitally and communicate with each other on both computers and mobile devices. With Schoology©, students can submit homework assignments, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take assessments and collaborate with their peers. Teachers will monitor student progress and activity to ensure a safe, secure and controlled environment. Parents will also have access to the system and be able to view teacher and student activity.
Your student has been given login credentials and has begun using Schoology©. You can create a Schoology© parent account and view your student’s account and activity at https://www.schoology.com/home.php. If you need assistance creating or accessing your parent account, please contact the school.
You can find instructions for using this parent access code to create your Schoology© parent account here: https://support.schoology.com/hc/en-us/articles/201000823-Sign-Up-Parent-.
By following this link, you can also find directions for navigating your account: https://support.schoology.com/hc/en-us/articles/201000833-Home-Page-Parents-.
We are very excited about this dynamic, intuitive, and user-centric learning management solution and hope that you find it helpful.
We will have Open House Tuesday, September 2 from 6 – 8 p.m.
Meet your student’s teachers and pick up your Schoology code in the Main Office. Schoology is the new website to see what is occurring in your student’s classes. It replaces Edmodo. Please bring a picture ID to get your code.
For parents of students enrolled in English 4 this semester, there will be a Senior Experience Informational Session in the Little Theater at 6:30 p.m.
We have a new block at Lexington High School this year. This appears as ILT (Independent Learning Time) on the schedules; however, we call it LexFlex Time. Students report to their LexFlex teacher each day. LexFlex Period is a time to:
Receive information and hear the daily announcements (replaces most homeroom time).
- Make up work and tests missed while absent.
- Complete homework.
- Study for tests.
- Go to Learning Labs to receive individual help from a teacher on something not understood.
- Retake tests.
- Research in the Learning Commons.
- Collaborate with other students on projects.
- Participate in study groups.
- Eat lunch (approximately 30-35 minutes).
