Lexington One World Languages posted February Immersion Updates – check it out on the blog!
Be sure to check out the February LHS Immersion Newsletter also.
Today begins Lexington High School’s “Pre-Registration” for the 18-19 school year. School counselors have been working with students all year to ensure they understand South Carolina Graduation Requirements, 4-year Public College Requirements, and how to access the District Course Catalog. Evening meetings have been held with parents to present this same information. These presentations can be found on the LHS Counseling Website HERE.
Our process for requesting courses is changing this year. Students will request courses online through their PowerSchool portal. To help students select courses, we are attaching a listing of courses available to this email. Also, teacher recommended core courses will appear when the students log into their PowerSchool portal. School Counselors will be available in the Learning Commons during all ILTs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week to assist students.
Students may enter course requests from February 19- 23. Instructions on entering these requests will be emailed to students’ LexOne email accounts. Instructions will also be available on the LHS Counseling website.
Don’t worry! Counselors will conduct IGP meetings with students and their families to review the selections made during the Pre-Registration process. If any adjustments are needed, they can be made at that time.
IGPs will be held starting March 5. Parents can go online NOW to schedule their child’s meeting. Meetings can be scheduled HERE, through the LHS Counseling website, or by calling the LHS Counseling Department at 821-3420.

Dear Lexington District One Families:
As you know, all Lexington County School District One schools closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, due to weather.
The district will make up the Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, missed school day by using Friday, March 30, 2018, the second severe weather makeup day on your 2017–2018 academic calendar.
By law (Section 59-1-425 of the South Carolina Code of Laws), districts are required to include at least three severe weather make-up days in each year’s academic school calendar. The district included those three days (Feb. 19, March 30, May 25) in this year’s academic calendar.
As you remember, the district is already using Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, the first severe weather makeup day, in order to make up the day we missed on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, due to Hurricane Irma.
We hope that by letting you know early that school will be in session on Feb. 19 and March 30, you have time to adjust any plans that you may have already made for those days.
Thank you for all you do for your children every day.
Mary Beth Hill
Chief Communications Officer
